International Exchange Facility: Student dormitory

Learning rules and etiquettes, our students are expected to foster autonomy and independence.

Entry Starts in march 2018 !

  

Our dormitory, where Japanese and International students live together, will open in the spring of 2018 on campus. 
Dorm rooms are all individual, with six residents sharing a common space (lounge and kitchen). 
Our dorm is not just accommodations.  Our educational dorm provides various programs to raise our students' abilities through cross-cultural interactions.

“Unit”  Japanese and International Students plan and manage various events.

留学生と交流しながらイベントの企画・運営をA “unit” is a group of 6 students who share a lounge, kitchen, and bathroom.  Japanese and international students live together, improving language skills and global sense.

In our dormitory, while introducing the “unit” system, Japanese and international students get toparticipate and plan different activities as a unit.
Our programs allow students with diverse cultural backgrounds to combine their strengths as one to tackle various problems.

Exchange meeting programs at our dormitory (examples)

  • April: welcome party and Ohanami (cherry blossom viewing)
  • May: Bowling competition
  • June: Social gathering
  • July: Tanabata festival (The star festival)
  • August: Mt. Rokko hiking
  • September: Musical event
  • October: Sports day
  • November: RYUKA festival
  • December: Christmas party
  • January: Mochi pounding, flower arrangement, tea ceremony
  • February: Setsubun party
  • March: Cooking class

 ※To deepen the relationship among our students, more events are planned besides the events listed above. The dorm students mainly prepare details of the events.

All rooms are singles/private.  Enjoy your time alone as well.

Beds, tables, cabinets and other essential furniture are equipped in each private room, allowing you to enjoy your private space, as well as the companionship of your international friends in a shared space.

 

Classrooms and the library are all within walking distance as our dorm is on campus.

The dormitory is located on the campus.  As such, access to classrooms, the library, and other facilities is direct without the need of transportation, allowing you to use your time more efficiently for your studies.  Furthermore, the cafeteria and a convenience store are also on the campus.

A custodian is stationed 24-hours, so you're in full security.

Our dormitory is planned to have a custodian (i.e. dorm mother) who stands watch for 24 hours, checking security gates and cameras for outsiders, as well as ensuring proper installation of AEDs.  Rest assured as we are constantly looking to protect you from every angle.

Kitchen and Cafeteria

A kitchen is equipped with every unit.  Also, there is a cafeteria named 'Ryuka Dining' on campus, where you can get a balanced meal at a low price.
■ You have to pay for yourself for the restaurant use. 
■ Breakfast is served based on our academic calendar.  It is served from 8:15-9:00 A.M.
daily.

Q

Is there a curfew?

A

24 o'clock is our curfew.  To ensure the safety of our students, we have set up the limit.  Be sure to return by midnight.

What activities are there in the exchange meeting programs?

A

We are planning a variety of events such as a welcome party for residents.  Such events are expected to be designed and managed by the voluntary students.  The aim is not just to set off the programs, but also to develop managing experiences.

Are there any prohibitions?

A

There are several don'ts.
Smoking is not allowed on campus.  Furthermore, unauthorized sleepovers, using flammable tools, and keeping pets are also forbidden.
