International Activities
UMDS provides a variety of international activities for students who wish to work globally.
Borderless learning about distribution and marketing will instill an international perspective and will help students in their global business futures.
Academic Exchanges
SARD (The Society of Asian Retailing and Distribution)
SARD was formed after the success of the “Asian Distribution Forum 2000” that was held by UMDS in November of 2000. SARD strives for research that is both an integration of theory and practice. SARD collaborates with other Asian countries who share the common goal of furthering the development of distribution in Asia.
Business Exchange Activities
We accept groups from Korea and Taiwan to work, learn and sharpen their skills in Japan. Based on the past success with students from those countries, we are planning to broaden our international recruitment. We are also launching more activities like industry/university training with domestic companies.

About 250 international students (Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Saudi Arabian and others) study at UMDS. Workshops and parties are offered for domestic and international students to be able to meet and communicate. Some student staffs also organize events with international students to promote multiculturalism on campus.

Travel overseas for 1 month in the spring or the summer to learn a language. Stay at college dormitories or choose a homestay. We offer programs in America, New Zealand, China, Spain, Germany and France.
Study Abroad・Research Overseas’ Marketing
We support and encourage your studies abroad. We also offer overseas research programs for distribution and marketing.
We provide programs for students to find new business ideas with a global view point.

Placement Services for International Students
We help international students with placement services and counseling to help find the right career. “Yuho-kai”, an alumni association, helps individuals find careers in China, Korea, and Taiwan.
