Update:February 22, 2016
Isao Nakauchi, the founding president of UMDS, knew that “distribution” would be a big part of our society in the 21st century. This is what drove him to build the university in 1979. He knew that we were no longer able to think solely about benefiting Japan, but we needed to think about every customer in the world. As the world changes day by day, the needs of customers change quickly, therefore the suppliers / distributors need to provide products and services in the right time and at the right places. Today, distribution is not simply a word used to describe a route between suppliers and customers, it is more broadly understood as a means by which to provide and offer a better life for customers. However, when UMDS was first opened, there were no schools focused on scientific “distribution”. Mr. Nakauchi decided to build this university because he knew he wanted to encourage and support the “power of youthful energy”.
UMDS opened its doors in 1988. Since that time we have been seeking individuals who are motivated and are able to speak their opinions to anyone in any situation.
