The University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences (UMDS) aims to facilitate the comprehensive and scientific study of distribution, as the one and only university in the world.
What contributes to enriching the current society is the sophisticated and highly efficient "distribution" of people, money, information, services and other products. At UMDS, in the course of studying the current distribution mechanisms of society, our students are expected to take on new challenges and get a wide variety of social experiences. They are also encouraged to individually find, analyze and solve problems so that they can acquire management abilities to create new ideas in the future. It is an important mission of UMDS to provide students with independent learning opportunities and help them recognize the value of it.
First-year students may not know the potential of "self-awareness." If they clearly become aware of the kind of job after graduation, the qualifications, the proficiency level, and the skills needed to get the job, and what they should learn during their four years of university studies, then they will become proactive, independent learners and become motivated to realize their goals.
With this in mind, as part of efforts to develop its educational programs for first-year students, UMDS has introduced the "self-discovery curriculum" since the academic year of 2015. This curriculum is designed to boost each student's self-awareness and encourage independent learning so they can develop into what they want to be.
UMDS will remain committed to fostering motivated individuals who are not easily overwhelmed or controlled by the surrounding circumstances but are capable of managing their future to achieve their goals and contributing to the better society.
